Article – Eye in the Sky – The Coming Judgment

by Scott Flanagan (revised version 2/2/22)

In November of 2021, the Lord gave me an amazing revelation of His coming judgment on the corruption and evil in our society. At the beginning of February 2022, He clarified the significance of the timing of that judgment upon the leadership of our nation. Therefore, this version has been amended to include this updated revelation.

The original revelation came in an usual way. The Lord kept playing a song from the 80s in my mind. The Lord frequently gives me songs. He will play a song over and over in my head, often for days, until I realize that there is a message for me in the lyrics of the song. In the past, these messages were either personal messages for me or messages about our love for each other. This was different. It was a message about God’s coming judgment. Over the past few months the Lord has been teaching me how to abide in His glory continuously and write from the glory. I believe this message represents the firstfruits of my deeper immersion in the Lord in the form of new kinds of end-time revelations.

The Lord had been playing a song in my mind for several days, titled Eye in the Sky. I had heard the song from time to time, but the words did not make much sense to me, so I had not paid much attention to it. Finally, I concluded that there must be a message in it for me from the Lord. When I looked up the lyrics, I still could not make sense of them, so I asked the Lord. When I researched it, it was clear that there is still a lot of confusion over the meaning of the words. If you just focus on the verses, it sounds like it is about a guy who is fed up with his girlfriend’s lies and deceit and is not going to take it anymore. But the chorus gives us a very different picture. Here is the chorus.

I am the eye in the sky, looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules, dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind

And I don’t need to see any more To know that

I can read your mind (Looking at you)
I can read your mind (Looking at you)

I can read your mind (Looking at you)
I can read your mind

The chorus makes it sound like the speaker, who calls himself “the eye in the sky,” is some kind of authority figure over large numbers of people. He is the one who makes the rules and sees the ones he is talking to as fools that he is going to cheat you blind. Many people who focus on the chorus say it is a song about hidden cameras in Vegas gambling casinos surveilling people, in part because the song writer had ties with Vegas. Therefore, there are two very different interpretations of the song, but they have no way of reconciling the meaning of the verses with the meaning of the chorus.

The Lord told me He wrote the song as warning to those involved in corruption and evil.  I do not like to give dates because dates never seem to come to pass as we think they will. However, what I believe the Lord clarified for me was the meaning of the 40-year period from the release of this song to the beginning of the judgment on the leadership of our nation. Biblically, 40-years represent one generation, as in the generation that rebelled against the Lord in the wilderness and as a result died in the wilderness and were not permitted to enter the Promised Land. If this is correct, then this judgment should begin in 2022, 40 years from the release of Eye in the Sky. So let us take a closer look at the song.

The song was performed by a British rock band, The Alan Parsons Project, and written by Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson. It was released first in an album in May 1982, the group’s sixth studio album, and then in August 1982 as a single. The story is that Alan did not like the song, but Eric convinced him to include it in the album. It turned out to be by far the most popular song they ever wrote, reaching No. 3 on the Billboard charts in the U.S. in October 1982, and number one in both Canada and Spain and No. 6 in New Zealand. The original album version was released with a 1:54 minute instrumental piece titled Sirius which segues directly into the song. It is an amazing and very dramatic instrumental, which apparently is still played at the beginning of some professional basketball games. The single does not include that introduction. Wikipedia says that the album-oriented rock and classic rock stations almost exclusively include the “Sirius” intro.

The Lord told me He was revealing the meaning of the song for two reasons. First, to show me how easy it is for Him to put His words in people’s minds, even secular unbelievers. In other words, I am to trust that what I am receiving is from Him. Second, to give me an example of the deeper end-time revelations He wants to give me.

This song was written by God as a warning to those in the United States and throughout the world who are engaging in corrupt and evil practices. He is saying to them, “I see what you are doing, and I know your thoughts. You think you are getting away with doing all this evil, but I am watching you and I am going to call you to account. You think you can lie and cheat with impunity, but I am the maker of the rules, not you. You think you are very wise, but you are fools for believing the enemy’s promises. He is telling you that you can get away with this. Now I am going to deal with you.”

That is the interpretation of the chorus. Here is the first verse:

Don’t think sorry’s easily said
Don’t try, turnin’ tables instead
You’ve taken lots of chances before
But I ain’t gonna give anymore

Don’t ask me, That’s how it goes
‘Cause part of me knows what you’re thinkin’

The Lord is calling these corrupt leaders to repentance. He is saying to them, “Do not think you can complete the deep work of repentance with a simple ‘I’m sorry.’ Do not think you can turn the tables and make excuses and blame others for all the choices you made. You took a lot of chances and got away with them. But I am not giving you any more chances. So don’t ask me. And do not pretend to regret what you did, because I know your thoughts.”

Here is the second verse:

Don’t say words you’re gonna regret
Don’t let the fire rush to your head
I’ve heard the accusation before
And I ain’t gonna take any more

Believe me
The sun in your eyes
Made some of the lies worth believing

This is a song about those who have been gambling their future for the sake of the present. They have been lying and cheating and breaking the rules and convincing themselves that it was okay. They thought they had a right to do that or it was just a temporary and necessary thing, and they would do better later. Those were just false promises to themselves and God. God is saying, “I almost want to believe your lies that you are truly repentant, because I can see the “son” in your eyes. Through Jesus and His sacrifice I can see you walking in the destiny I wrote into the scroll of your life.” He is further saying, “When you are exposed, be careful how you react and what you say. If you react in anger (fire) and blame others, I will abandon you to your fate in hell. The bottom line is that judgment is here. I am not going to take what you are doing anymore.”

Here is the third verse:

Don’t leave false illusion behind
Don’t cry, I ain’t changing my mind
So find another fool like before
‘Cause I ain’t gonna live anymore

Believing
Some of the lies
While all of the signs are deceiving

This final verse is saying the same things as the above verses. But what in the world is a false illusion? That is like a double negative. An illusion is a lie, something people believe in that is not true. A false lie is something that someone has rejected as untrue but is actually true. The Lord is saying to these people, when you were much younger you heard the gospel message and wanted to believe it. At some point, you rejected it as an illusion and left it behind. Do not leave it behind. You need to pick it up again.

I had a little trouble with the fourth line of the chorus, because we do not think of God as cheating anyone.

I am the eye in the sky, looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules, dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind

When I asked the Lord about it, this is what He led me to understand. To cheat or rob someone blind is to steal everything someone owns, especially through deceitful or fraudulent means. The meaning of blind in this phrase is that the victim of this robbery is blind to it and cannot see that they are being cheated. As a result, the robbery is likely to be thorough and devastating because the robber has no fear of detection and no need to act in haste. This is a picture of what the globalist elites have been doing to unsuspecting national populations while pursuing their goal of a new world order. They have been cheating the people blind. Now God is saying I am going to give you some of your own medicine. I am going to do to you what you have been doing. I am going to cheat you blind. You are going to lose everything, and you will not understand how or why it happened. You will not understand that it was I who took everything from you that you gained by false and deceitful means (the coming transfer of wealth).

The Lord told me that He put the song in my mind to tell me that judgment is coming. It has been delayed, but it is coming. It did not come when the prophets thought it would come. It did not come through those they thought would bring it – Donald Trump, the courts, or the military. When it does come, it will come by the hand of God so that everyone can clearly see that there is a God and, in the end, only His rules count. The only path to salvation and prosperity is through God. I asked the Lord why this song was so popular; despite being produced by a group that was not well known and having a lyric that no one really understood. He said, the popularity of the song derives from a deep desire in every human being for justice to rule the world.

Here is the really amazing part. I wondered what the significance was of the two-minute instrumental introduction titled Sirius. I looked up Sirius and discovered it is the brightest star in the night sky. The name is derived from a Greek word meaning “glowing” or “scorching.” That is a picture of the Baptism of Fire. Its effect on people will depend on where their hearts are when the experience begins. If they are loving and serving God, the Baptism of Fire will make them glow with love so that God’s love is seen on them. If they are involved in major sins, the Baptism of Fire will scorch them as they are compulsively forced to publicly confess their sins.

So, this is saying that the judgment of the corrupt leadership in our nation will be preceded by the Baptism of Fire. When I asked the Lord when that would take place, what I believe I heard was at the end of this 40-year generation which has kept our nation in the wilderness. I then pondered what is the significance of the leadership generation that came to power in the 1980s. This is the generation in the United States that was born in the post-WWII period and raised in affluence. Bill Clinton (born 1946) was the governor of Arkansas in the 1980s and president 1993-2001. Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer were first elected to Congress in the 1980s. Clinton has been called the first postmodern president. Postmodernists believe that there are no absolute truths. There is only my experiential truth and that is what works for me. They reject traditional morality and focus on realizing personal goals rather than what is best for others or what one should do in the eyes of God. This is the generation that rebelled against God and sought self-actualization as the highest goal. Since there are no absolute truths, one is free to do whatever advances self-interest.

The Bible tells us what happens in a society that has no king. In the days of the judges in ancient Israel, “there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes” (Judg 21:25 NKJV). When a nation rejects God as their king, leaders arise who are most effective in manipulating others to serve the leaders self-interests. The Lord has given this godless generation of leaders 40 years to rule in the U.S. to demonstrate the greed, corruption and violence that kind of leadership brings to a nation. Their deeds and plans for our nation are about to be exposed to shock our nation into changing course. The picture of the rebellious generation dying in the wilderness in Moses’ day, suggests that the rule of this corrupt generation is nearing an end.

The Eye in the Sky album was released in May 1982 and the single in August 1982. The 40-year anniversary of that release is the summer of 2022. That suggests that the Baptism of Fire might fall in the American church sometime between May and August 2022. A corporate Baptism of Fire has only occurred once before in the history of the world. That was when the fire fell on the 120 in the upper room on the Feast of Pentecost and they were baptized “with the Holy Spirit and with fire” (Matt 3:11 NIV). The Jewish Pentecost in 2022 falls on May 16. Because the Lord often operates in patterns, that is one possible date.

That also raises the question of when will the judgment of corrupt leaders begin? I believe one possibility would be October 2022, the 40-year anniversary of the month when the single, Eye in the Sky, reached No. 3 (Trinity) on the U.S. Billboard charts. When I asked the Lord if that was when the exposures and resignations of corrupt leaders would begin (resignations prophesied by Terry Bennett based on the future newspaper headlines he was shown), He would not confirm those dates. All He said was that I should not be surprised if the exposures begin in October, because in 2022, Yom Kippur falls on October 4-5. In Jewish tradition, Yom Kippur is the day on which one’s fate for the following year was sealed. If one had not repented by then, great disaster could fall on one’s house in the coming year.

It is also interesting how oblivious the writer of the song was to its real meaning. He put the eye of Horus on the cover of the Eye in the Sky album. Horus is the son in the Ancient Egyptian demonic trinity which includes Osiris (father) and Isis (mother). It is also interesting how the Lord made this song so popular and has kept it alive over the years. This just shows how God can act even through the lost.

This revelation left me very amazed. It felt very heavy and the Lord said to me, “When you hear the song, know that My move is coming soon. I am going to intervene in the affairs of man in a way that will be obvious to all. The world will see the greatest move of God that there has ever been on the earth. Pray for those that have been deceived so that they may see the light before it is too late.”

The Baptism of Fire – This revelation felt very heavy because for a good number of people this coming move of God will be their last opportunity to repent. Sirius, the brightest star in the sky, is a picture of the coming corporate Baptism of Fire. God is light and “dwells in unapproachable light” (1 Tim 6:16 NASU). People have seen this white light in visions and near-death experiences. The closer one gets to this light, the more dramatic and transformative its effect will be on us. Recall the effect the proximity of God had on the very holy priest and prophet of Israel, Isaiah. “Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips” (Isa 6:5). People who have had these experiences say that you see and feel the weight of all your unrepented sins throughout your life and it is an extremely painful experience. Terry Bennett says that when the Lord appeared to him, he fell flat on the floor and, if he could, he would have pulled up the floorboards and gotten under them.

The greater the sins that one has not repented of the more excruciating this experience will be. People will feel a compulsion to confess and repent for their sins in these public settings and that will be very embarrassing. Neville Johnson was shown what this will look like. He saw some people running out of churches because they felt so horrible in that presence. Some of those that fled were convicted and would eventually come back and try again. But some would never come back. I believe these public confessions and the compulsion to come clean under the power of God will be the engine that will expose all the evil in our society.

There are some practical concerns and that should be planned for. When Kat Kerr experienced the Baptism of Fire in her church, she was on the floor shaking violently from early evening to five in the morning. Her church in Jacksonville had a night watchman, so they simply locked her in with the night watchman. Her body was shaking but she was somewhere else. She was in Heaven with Jesus. Finally at around five am, she was able to sit up and they called her husband to pick her up. They had to carry her to the car and did she did not feel “normal” again for about two weeks. Neville saw churches and schools where people were out under the power for days. When they came out of the experience they were greatly changed. I do not know whether the Baptism of Fire will come gradually and escalate or whether it will come with a bang, but churches need to begin to think about preparing for the chaos this move will bring. When this baptism falls, churches will quickly fill up because people are hungry to see a real move of the living God. This will require daily church meetings in many cases as well as evangelism teams that will work outside church wall. No one has ever seen anything like what is coming.

Weeks after writing about this song, it continued to go on and on in my mind. That also is very unusual. Previously, once I understood the meaning of the message the Lord was giving me in a song, I would stop hearing it. I keep hearing this one for parts of nearly every day. When I asked Jesus why, this is what He said:

As you know, the song is about judgment and restoration. My people have been robbed of their destiny. That is going to be restored. Restoration is coming. When you hear the song, it is to remind you to press into a deeper relationship with Me, do the repentance work and prepare for what is coming – my cleansing fire. It is also to encourage you that the days of trial are coming to an end.
